Coroner and Deputy Coroner of the Year Criteria

1. Must be a member in good standing with the Georgia Coroners Association

2. Previous winners will not be eligible for the award again until 4 years after receipt of the last award.

3. The A.R. King Award is to go to the Coroner of the Year.

4. The Harry Pippin Award is to go to the outstanding Deputy Coroner of the Year, and if no nominees, to the runner up for the Coroner of the Year.

5. Nominees must be nominated in writing by a coroner or deputy coroner in good standing with the Georgia Coroners Association.

6. In the event no nominations are received, it will be the responsibility of the award committee to secure  nominations and select the winners.

7. The following should be used to decide the award winners:

A. Current year of service to the Georgia Coroners Association.

B. Past years service to the Georgia Coroners Association.

C. Service to the local community and the state in promoting the office of coroner and the Georgia Coroners  Association.

D. Any other criteria that the committee deems necessary in deciding the winners.
